24 Season 7: Who's The Last Mole?

This is complete speculation, but here it is: Olivia Taylor called her friend, Martin Collier, to help arrange a hit on Jonas Hodges. They discussed the idea of killing Hodges about 15 minutes into the episode. About a half-hour later, Hodges is killed by a car bomb at FBI HQ. We are supposed to think that Olivia's hitman did the job, despite the fact that 1) she never transferred the funds and 2) she called Martin beforehand and recanted the contract! I know it's "24" but... it's "24" which means something sinister is in the works. Someone else was tipped off to Hodges' status (the cabal... or maybe someone who just hated what Hodges did to this country). The car bomb was set via advance intel. So, that means there must be one last mole in the mix.

That mole can either be at FBI HQ or in the White House- take your pick. I ask you all to speculate who the last traitor will be.

Subtopic: Does the mole know of Olivia's attempt to hire the hitman? And if so, will he/she try to reveal Olivia's abandoned plans (and embarrass the President at the same time)?

Sub-subtopic: Aaron Pierce has been around a lot lately. Perish the tought, I know. But still...

24 Season 7: 4PM-5PM Pictoral Preview

Tonight we learn who's the FBI mole! I hear last minute rumblings that Janis Gold might be the traitor- and that's probably the most interesting choice next to Larry Moss. Either way, I'll post my usual review right after the show ends. And if I have enough coffee in the house, I'll finish that 24: DMV post too.

Yep, yet another packed night for yours truly. And "Rudy" is on TV right now... I love this movie. RUDY! RUDY! RUDY! RUDY! Ah, if poor Lynn McGill had 1/10th the tenacity of Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger... but I digress.

See you back here later tonight!

24 Season 7: Are YOU The Mole? God, I Hope So...

Let's review the evidence, shall we? Blonde, young, vivacious AND she's willing to consciously sleep with Sean "Queens Blvd." Hillinger! If this chick (I think her name is Erica) is not the mole, then we have been greatly letdown by the peeps running "24." Barring any revelations to the contrary, who else do you think should be the FBI mole? Here are some alternatives I deem slightly acceptable:

1) The uneaten ham sandwich on Janis Gold's desk: Assuming by her name that Janis is a non-practicing Jew, a ham and cheese sandwich is muy trafe! This non-kosher intruder is my kind of villain. Verdict: So... delicious... and evil.

2) The suspicious squirrel that lives outside of the J. Edgar Hoover building. Yeah, I got my eye on you, ya lousy rat. Verdict: Under the right stewing conditions... also delicious!

3) Speaking of Hoover, how about the ghost of good 'ol J. Edgar? Keep a lookout for his portrait on the walls of FBI headquarters. If his lazy eyeball starts to move, you know we've found our mole (cue Scooby Doo music). Verdict: Not so delicious.

Holy Mole-y!!!

It seems there's always a mole running around CTU. Usually, it's some new face that turns on the CTU gang from within. With that modus operandi established by the writers, wouldn't it be refreshing if there was a true betrayal by a friend, a loyalist, that decides for whatever reason(s) that the terrorists need to win this round? With that in mind, I am voting for a significant shake-up for this season- I nominate Chloe O'Brian as this year's mole.

Okay, so this is some form of sacrilege that I'm suggesting here, I know. Chloe is a beloved character- she's Jack's loyal friend and go-to person in a crunch. But that's exactly why her betrayal would be magnificent. Jack has been kicked around, tortured, killed, burned, etc. You name it, and Jack has had to endure it. And let's add Chloe turning bad to that list because it would mess with Jack even more than some garden-variety turncoat (like Morris or Milo).

But you're saying to yourself "how could they explain Chloe being a mole?" Well, remember that this year's plot is linked to last year's group of bad guys. Also, remember that Jack believed the murders of David Palmer, Tony Almeida and Michelle Dessler were all meant to drag Jack out of hiding. Whomever set up the whole group of killings knew Jack was alive. Well, Chloe knew Jack was alive. Chloe was the one that called Jack, forcing him out of hiding. Graem and Phillip Bauer would certainly be interested in Jack's whereabouts. They'd also want to neutralize Jack in the face of what they were planning. And remember at the end of last season, when Chloe holds the photo of her and Edgar? There was some cryptic writing on the back of the picture that on freeze-frame makes you wonder what the heck is going on:

Written backwards are the words "JACK IS DEAD." What is that all about? Is it a clue or is it a dead-end? If the writers had any grapes whatsoever, they'd push for Chloe being the mole. This is more wishful thinking than serious prognostication on my part. If forced to place a bet, my money would be on Milo or someone like that because that's what the writers would probably end up doing. But if they wanted to shock us like they did in the good 'ol days... Chloe would be the best mole in "24" history, and that's saying a lot.

Queer Eye for the Spy Guy: Milo Pressman

Hey everybody, it's your favorite quintet of gay life coaches, the Fab Five! We're here on a mission of national security to tell you kids at CTU that you got a bad boy in your midst. Usually when someone changes their appearance so dramatically, we've had something to do with it. Well, we became suspicious of one CTU agent in particular when we realized we had nothing to do with his extreme makeover. Some evil force is at work here and we can see it clear as day-- Milo Pressman has gone from looking drab to feelin' fab! He is SO a mole!

First, we've tried to contact CTU but they don't return our calls. We don't understand why the federal government is so reluctant to hear what we have to say. Because we're gay doesn't mean we want to be nuked anymore than you straight people. And last time we checked, CTU was about as good at weeding out moles as they are picking out window treatments. Seeing events unfold so far this year, we are totally convinced that you are missing all the tell-tale warning signs with Milo. To make our case, let's go down memory lane and review the evidence:

Several years ago, Milo was an outsourced techie who came to CTU to help do some very important clickety-clacking on a keyboard in your office. During that time, Milo was rockin' the wrinkled button down shirt left open over a t-shirt underneath. And look at those earrings- it's like he stole them out of his mother's old costume jewelry box (not that we know what that's all about!). Our verdict on old Milo: he was slob-chic when the grunge fad had long since past. We've seen this condition many times before, and it doesn't just go away on its own.

Milo disappeared from our attention for several years since "Day 1," but not before Milo asked out and failed to make snugglies with that cutie Chloe O'Brian. That sort of rejection usually sends a fashion-offender into a deeper rut of flannel shirts and stonewashed jeans. But hello! "Day 6" rolls around and look at the man's new-found pulse for fashion! A tailored suit with a clean-pressed shirt (and no tie, to affirm his hipster status). And honey, you're definitely using a facial scrub and moisturizer-- you're practically glowing! With your government salary, you can't afford that kind of transformation. Somebody got to you, Milo. They're paying you big bucks under the table to make you a top-shelf hunk. You've gone from looking "sorta'rican" to worthy of freakin'!

Now, you've come a long way but you still need a little work-- your attachment to that "soulpatch" is a no-no. And if you're thinking of taking home little Miss Nadia, you are going to have to step-up and make her dinner before the po-po catch onto you. Oh, poor silly Milo, you should have come to us first before taking all that money from those naughty terrorists. We would have helped you! But people, Milo is a definitely a "mole-o" and when CTU comes crashing down, don't say we didn't warn you! Okay, we're off to go on a shopping spree before Rodeo Drive is irradiated.

P.S. Jack, honey, we LOVE your manpurse! Ciao!
