Oooh, I like that. Classier than the old one, yet not frou-frou at all.

TheJackSack said...

While I will never say anything to diminish the ORIGINAL Jack Sack, I do admit that this new bag is excellent. It's "Private Sector" Bauer... it's business and party... it's not too "Eddie Bauer", etc., etc.

Oy, I write too much about manpurses.

Rickey said...

Eh, it looks somewhat suspect to Rickey. Like something out of the Diesel catalog.... What's with the superfluous metal studs? Why's he wearing it slung so low? Rickey declares Season 8 to be a disaster of unmitigated proportions!

The Jack Sack said...

Who you callin' superfluous?

TheJackSack said...

Those "studs" look like embedded slugs from a Sig Sauer P220. And that distressed-effect on the leather looks like dust off of a jelly donut. ANd the bag is hanging low because Bauer is in the lollipop guild, what's it to ya?

Jack is a man! A diminutive one-man army. With a purse. Oy...

Rickey said...

Rickey remains unconvinced! That bag looks like the unholy love-child of Mad Max and Helmut Lang. $10 says that Jack Bauer is carrying the latest issue of "Parade" in that man-purse of his!

TheJackSack said...

Ya know, for someone who cries "fancy" you're rattling off a lot of high-end collections like you're somebody who knows a thing or two about fashion. I call metrosexual bullshit!

Rickey said...

Bah, Rickey's familiarity with several large designer names doesn't make him suspect. What's suspect here is the 24 costume department's decision to pick an increasingly effeminate bag for Jack each season. Rickey swears, next year Jack will be chasing after terrorists with a brolly and a rape whistle.

TheJackSack said...

I dunno, maybe Kiefer is picking out his own accessories: http://tinyurl.com/ydys537

Rickey said...

One can imagine Kiefer storming into the 24 writers room:

Damnit, the man-purse stays in the picture!!!

The Jack Sack said...

And if I weren't in da picture, this wouldn't be much of a blog, eh? (shrugs shoulders gangster style) Now I need to go moisturize with some leather balm...

Just a quick note to say thanks for the link to Werewolves On The Moon. That was mighty cool of you.

Looking forward to the new season of 24. Always interested to see what manner of self-righteous assholery Jack (and his sack) gets up to next.

TheJackSack said...

And thanks to you and the CoC for the reciprocal link too. I may be the yackster by day, but this is the place I go to take off my literary pants. Welcome. Have a Shasta, we're stocked for the winter.

tyler said...

i must have the new bag. jack has made it abundantly clear that not only must you carry the man purse with you while enforcing your will upon the city..... but that the sack must match the jacket.

TheJackSack said...

I'm still researching it, Tyler- stay tuned for the results of my search.

El Jeffe said...

I, too, need that bag. I understand that there is a special compartment to store thumbs, which, is also important in my line of work.

TheJackSack said...

Si, Jeffemio, I'm on it. In the meantime, consider a "classic" Jack Sack, linked in the upper right-hand corner of my blog. Thanks for your comment, señor.

Boy! As soon as I so that Strap, my first thought was, Wow, I gotta get that bag, and the Jacket - Chocolate smooth leather like that... Yeah, I will check back for updates...

If the top of the bag is below the beltline, straight.
Above the belt, gay.
At the belt, undecided.
I wouldnt call them "metal studs", Rickey. More like rivets.

Any updates? I've searched amazon but haven't been able to narrow it down...

looks like some sort of leather bag to me....

Unknown said...

Bought a JackSack, a JackPack, someone please tell me where I can get JackBag (JackSack 2G?)!

CopDrama said...

Will somebody please do WHATEVER it takes and ID BOTH the jacket and the bag?

Bauer Boy said...

I FOUND IT!!!

Unknown said...

...and you couldn't have posted a link?? Do you get some kind of kick out of keeping us in suspense?

TheJackSack said...

Yeah, Bauer Boy, where is it?

Bauer Boy said...

Managed to get an email to the shows wardrobe team via Fox! (cheeky smiley)

TheJackSack said...

That's great, mind sharing what they told you?

Unknown said...

This guy is full of crap... link or make and model or it didn't happen.

I guess you're trying to build suspense for your big find, I can only hope someone beats you to the punch and steals your thunder

Michael said...

I agree. Post a link or it's all talk. Don't make us shoot you in the thigh or go "Jack-ula" on your neck!

Unknown said...

Jim Lapidus is the man to get a hold of. I'd do it myself but I'm pressed for time as it is. You should be able to find an email, facebook or twitter account to get a hold of him. Good luck and let me know what happens

anyone know which bag it is?

Michael said...

Contacted Jim Lapidus through facebook and he said to contact Fox Studios. Anybody have a contact for them?

TheJackSack said...

Rick, just a heads-up:

I deleted your last comment because it contained a person's phone number that I'm not going to share on this site. I appreciate the lead and if you can follow it up, that would be awesome, but I don't want readers branching off of this site and calling up members of the show's crew. It's not that you did anything bad, I'm just not comfortable hosting that information. I hope you understand my position. But again, let me know if you find out anything, thanks.

TheJackSack said...

And Rick, I can certainly try your contact tomorrow AM as well.

Unknown said...

Thanks for the heads up Adam. If you could follow up it would great. I did give myself a "D'oh!" first thing this morning

Unknown said...

Adam,

Did you ever get a hold of the elusive Mike Voght?

TheJackSack said...

I spoke with Mike, he was very nice but he didn't have the information. I followed up with someone else on the crew and he said he couldn't tell me any information without clearing it with FOX first, so I'm waiting for a response.

Unknown said...

Jesus, was this guy aware that Jack Bauer is a fictional character? I don't think the brand of man-bag he carries is classified information.

...the search continues

TheJackSack said...

Well, there's a possibility that FOX has some exclusive deal with the maker of the bag so they might want to control that information for an eventual promotion. Either way, I'm still on the case.

Bauer Boy said...

it's expensive...

TheJackSack said...

Details? Who makes it? Where is it sold?

Unknown said...

Don't bother, Bauer Boy doesn't know squat. He could've been the hero of the day A WEEK AGO when he supposedly found it if he'd have just posted a link. Instead he's been making these stupid comments the entire time.

Bauer boy is either an overweight 30-something posting in between raids on WoW in his mother's basement, or a 12-year-old looking for the attention his parents won't give him because he was the product of too much tequila and too few condoms.

Unknown said...

I do a pop culture podcast, maybe we could use it as leverage?

Unknown said...

It certainly can't hurt to try.

Michael said...

Jim Lapidus basically said that he couldn't say. Given the "viral" popularity of the first Jack Sack, Fox must be either planning a promotion or keeping it a secret to create more intrigue and interest.

TheJackSack said...

Michael, thanks for the heads-up. Well, whatever their reasons, the jig is up.

El Jeffe said...

I'm pretty sure it's this one

TheJackSack said...

El Jefe,

That's not a bad one, but it's not the actual bag. Check the top of this article, I found the bag and posted the information.

El Jeffe said...

It's actually El Jeffe - get it right!!!

I own the 'original' Jack Sack, made of a tough canvas almost like denim. it has a military look to it & is featured in the above action photo. I use it as gym bag, overnight bag, hiking bag, bicycling bag, in other words...almost for everything. It's absolutely awesome & the price is cheap as hell. One of the more versatile & functional things I now own. This leather one shown here is for women or totally metro/gay men. Just my humble opinion.
