Season 7 Trailer!!!

Rickey Henderson tipped me off to this:

Now my initial thoughts:

I see elements from Die Hards 2 and 4 and GoldenEye at play in this trailer. I also see that Jack Bauer has grown out his hair and wears lighter colors.

People, it's too early to render judgment on this season, but just seeing Almeida back in action is enough to get me excited, even if he turns into a bad guy. And a part of me digs that Almeida is bad, because he is the Yang to Bauer's Ying. Both of them lost their wives. Both of them suffered terrible losses on behalf of their country. And while Bauer makes the hero's choice to keep fighting for what he believes in, Tony (reasonably) loses his grasp of those values and goes AWOL. Instead of the predictable terrorist agenda, we get something a lot more primal out of Tony. He just wants to see things go boom.

Eh.. well, I don't really like seeing Tony going bad. But hey, he's back, so no complaining here! Just hope he will grow his georgeous hair back really soon!

Further, I like Jack being on trial. It probably won't be used in many episodes, but still.

And Almeida should be helping Jack in the end. Tony is far more a good man than a bad man. He suffered from Nina and lost his wife, yes, but he's also the person who plotted against the Salazars, who'd do anything for his wife (which I find a good cause) and who has always helped Jack.

They absolutely must find a plot twist that allows Jack to team up with Tony at some point (something akin to the Salazar/Bauer alliance they did in season 3). Jack testifying before Congress looks fun.

I love the smirks from the Senator questioning Jack Bauer. But the theatrics of the whole thing look a bit silly. Could you imagine James Bond testifying before some subcommittee of Parliament? Rubbish!

Speaking of the Senator, how many Robocop veterans does that make now? 42?

I'm reading a lot of people saying they want Jack and Tony to be buddies in the field again.

Look, if they're making Tony the villain, I want him to be a bad guy for real-- no more of this Salazar nonsense from way back when. Almeida is †he toughest sonuvabitch out there, he got shot in the neck and went back to work 6 hours later. This is the guy who can mess up Jack real good. I hope the writers really let loose with this showdown, which screams Hong Kong Triad movie all the way.

So pretty much everything Rickey said in post #2 you disagree with, huh? (Sniff)

Give me a few months, I'm sure I'll be changing my opinion once the show premieres.

Did anyone notice there's a NEW Jack Sack? I only noticed the bag strap though...

Did anyone notice a difference from this trailer and the one posted at the office 24 trailer site?

Looks like the edited out the reference about Jack enjoying torturing the fellow. That's the best thing about the trailer--aside from all of the other stuff.

Caught that missing line. Fox probably got a little squeamish and nixed it.

Notice though, that Jack is not the one on trial. They ask the "witness" to state his name. If Jack were on trial, they'd say "will the defendant please state his name".

And it's not before Congress. It looks like an ordinary DC courtroom (not that I've ever been in one). My guess this is a civil suit, an "ACLU v. CTU" kind of thing over the dreaded torture of innocent terrorists. Blech.

I don't think Jack would be as flip in his answers if his own butt was on the line.

And now we have "mirror-universe" Tony. No goatee, but that ever present soul patch. Please tell me he's in it for the money. He can't all of a sudden hate his government that much to risk the lives of innocent people.

Hello, actually tony should helping Jack, because this is TONY, i mean a good man, he's very sweet, and i don't think, he'll stay like that, because when we think about it, Jack can help him, i'm pratically sure, that Jack will use Michelle, in order convincing Tony to take other way, so he will say if Tony do what he's doing, Michelle had been killed for anything, and I'm sure that no person wanna see the tony's caracter becom a terrorist...(sorry for my mistakes, i'm not a good english speaker, i speak just french, and arabic) lol!!!
PS : my web page is not complet because i don't have time in order to do it, cause i have my BAC this year, but i'll do it in summers' vacation, "www.24tmrc.fr.gd", and i've blog www.24ship.skyblog.com, my mailbox : bouatouragirl@hotmail.fr
